Golden chrysanthemums seem to spill softly into bloom across a lustrous maple wood base in this elegant kanzashi.
Long revered as a symbol of longevity, the chrysanthemum is also cherished for its quiet nobility, and has been counted among the Four Gentlemen in East Asian tradition.
Each blossom is delicately rendered by hand in lacquer and maki-e using genuine gold powder, while subtle touches of raden lend a restrained, iridescent glow. Created by Unohara Tsuneichi Shoten, this piece embodies a refined beauty tempered with inner strength.
